so, the protest last week, over 100 charges so far, and may go up, a massive cleanup bill, not to mention complaints to the tuc and boris johnson. and that was all due to a small minority. however one thing came as a result, students who were promised EMA until 2012 will now get the amounts entitled to them, and students getting the £30 this year will get £20 next year, so in that respect it may have been successful. only time will tell however what else may result.
in the build up to the royal wedding more and more details are being released. one of the best stories is that all the peace campaigners next to parliament square are going to the high court so westminster council can try to evict them, but its not going to happen until after the wedding, that will end up being very interesting.
now moving onto lybia. the airstrikes have allowed the rebels to regain ground they lost, after they gained it in the first place. thing is, now they are reaching gaddafis hometown the military, or whats left of it, is putting up stiff competition. the rebels tried to push into that town, but because the lybians adopted the same tatics the rebels are being pushed back, again. they are also producing 100000 barrels of oil a day, good news for them, better news for global oil prices. thing is, ordinary consumers wont see the benefits for a long time. and while the rebels may be raking in the cash, they still wont be able to buy equipment because of that pesky UN arms embargo, yeah, like that will stop the US from selling them guns, ammo, tanks, and whatever else they can buy and the CIA can import, which obama has supposedly signed off on doing, and cameron is thinking the same thing. i guess that means we will be enforcing and breaking the resolution at the same time. oh, and a senior member of gaddafis regimehas defected to britain, we wont be giving him immunity though, and gaddafis regime is refusing to acknowledge it was a defection, merely a diplomatic mission, yeah, a mission to save himself. this was going to be the subject of my vlog this week, but due to a technical glitch i cant get it online at the moment. please check back for more info.
roll up roll up, bidding is now open for Ark Royal, and 3 other warships, on the official MOD auction site. thing is, that site crashed, because of all the interest in Ark Royal presumably. that or some squaddies produced another video and crashed the MOD servers trying to email it back to blighty.
just when you thought it was all over, baby peter was back in the news again this week, because the woman in charge of the social services that failed him so terribly, is launching an appeal against her sacking. thats right, the money grabbing harpie sharon shoesmith is trying to get her job back, instead of wasting court time and money letting her appeal, perhaps we should better spend that time and money trying her for gross negligence manslaughter, because lets face it, if social workers couldnt identify systemic and sustained abuse in such a young child, someone failed, someone was negligent, and she was the boss, so its down to her.
britains youngest victim of gun crime is now a 5 year old, who was an innocent bystander in a shop in london. i dont have much to say on this apart from i hope the gunmen feel horrible about themselves, and it should serve as a wake up call to other people who carry guns. these indescriminant shootings serve nothing but to harm the young and the innocent.
an ex labour mp has been jailed for fiddling his expences this week, 16 months that hes going to be draining more money from taxpayer that we will never see again. and thats called justice.
Virgin is getting closer to space tourism. it may be 10 years later than the film said, but mabey 2001: a space oddesy will come true. but for the price of the tickets i hope they install a computer that wont go mad. my advice, if the word HAL is even mentioned, run the other way, quickly.
Sucker Punch was released this week. the awkwedness of the interview on BBC breakfast thursday morning was hilarious. watching the presenters struggling to find words to say was so painful, but it was entertaining. and of course with a film of this type there is already suggestions of sexism, im gonna wait to pass judgment until i see it.
this blog post has gone on far enough now i think, so im going to end it there, so im gonna sign off by saying have a good week, and i will see you all next time.
